Mud crabs are on the move, and QBFP reminds everyone to check the gender of their crabs before taking them 🦀🦀 Taking female mud crabs is illegal in Queensland, so don’t get nipped with a fine. Possession of female mud crabs carries a penalty of $533 👎 Inspect the shape of the abdominal flap on the underside of the crab before you take it home. Female mud crabs have a rounded or wider U-shaped flap, while a male mud crab has a narrower V-shaped flap.
